Terms

Terms of Service

v1 · Last updated 2026-04-19
These terms cover TVWizard during our pre-launch phase. We'll revise them before paid tiers go live and before we accept any payments. If you only joined the waitlist, these terms bind only the relationship around that signup and any future free-tier use.

1. What TVWizard is

TVWizard (the "Service") is a cloud relay and Model Context Protocol server operated by the team behind DJWizard. It lets a compatible AI client control a smart TV that is paired with the Service via the TVWizard Bridge (the "Bridge"), an open-source Android app.

2. Acceptance

By using the Service — visiting this site, joining the waitlist, pairing a TV, or calling an MCP tool — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

3. Accounts, tokens, and devices

We do not have user accounts today. A bearer token issued during pairing is the primary identifier tied to a single device ID that you chose. You are responsible for keeping that token secret. Anyone who has the token can command the paired TV. If you suspect a token has been exposed, revoke it immediately (DELETE /pair or email us).

4. Acceptable use

You will not:

We may revoke tokens, block IPs, or suspend the Service to stop abuse. We aim to notify the affected user by email when we do, unless doing so would make the abuse worse.

5. The open-source bridge

The TVWizard Bridge is distributed under the Apache License 2.0 from github.com/fizzious1/TVWizard-Bridge. You can install, audit, modify, and redistribute the Bridge under that license. These Service terms govern your use of our hosted relay; they do not govern your separate use of the Bridge source code.

6. Service-as-is; no warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" during pre-launch. We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We explicitly do not warrant that any particular MCP tool — including title resolution via third-party providers like Wikidata or TVmaze — will return correct results for every query.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of use of a TV, a streaming service, or a subscription. Our total aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the prior 12 months, and (b) €50.

8. Third-party services

TVWizard calls Wikidata and TVmaze to resolve titles to deep links. It launches Android intents that open third-party apps like Netflix, Disney+, or YouTube on your TV. We are not responsible for, and do not control, those third-party services. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

9. Changes to the Service and these terms

We will change the Service as we build it. We may add, remove, or modify MCP tools and pricing tiers at any time. When we materially change these terms we will update the "last updated" date above and email everyone on the waitlist at least 7 days before the change takes effect.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by revoking your token and ignoring us. We can terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms, abuse the Service, or if we shut down the Service entirely. We will give reasonable notice before shutting down.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Users in the EU, UK, and other jurisdictions retain any rights conferred on them by local consumer-protection law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Tel Aviv, Israel.

12. Contact

Questions, abuse reports, token-revocation requests, anything else — hi@tv.djwizard.ai.
